There's something special about spending a day in nature among the apple trees. The crisp air, the excitement of finding the perfect apple, and the simple joy of slowing down together.
At Cider Hill Family Orchard, apple picking is more than a fall activity. It's a tradition that brings families together, year after year.
Whether it's your first visit or one of many, we can't wait to welcome you to the orchard.
We have 8,000+ apple trees and over 25 different varieties that ripen between late July - Mid-October.
How U-Pick Works
A little planning makes for a wonderful day at the orchard!
01 | Check Before You Come
Apple picking begins August 1st and continues as long as our harvest allows. Different varieties ripen throughout the season, so what's available changes from week to week.
Be sure to check our latest picking updates before heading out!
02 | Buy Your Bag
When you arrive, stop by our donut shop or Cider Hill Store to purchase your apple-picking bag and learn which varieties and orchard rows are currently open for picking.
Our team will help point you in the right direction!
03 | Pick, Explore & Enjoy
Head into the orchard and enjoy gathering fresh apples straight from the trees. Take your time, soak in the scenery, and make a few memories along the way.
Please pick only in designated areas and follow posted orchard guidelines to help us care for our trees and future harvests.
A Few Orchard Guidelines
We want everyone to enjoy a wonderful picking experience while helping us care for the orchard and the harvest we've worked hard to grow.
Pick only what you've paid for. All apples must fit comfortably inside your purchased bag. Overfilling bags or taking additional apples without payment is considered theft.
Stay in designated picking areas. Only pick from rows that are open for harvest. Some varieties may not be ripe or available yet.
Be gentle with our trees. Do not climb, shake branches, or pull apples forcefully. Healthy trees mean beautiful harvests for years to come!
Only pick what you plan to keep. Please don't pick apples and leave them on the ground. Every apple matters!
Supervise little pickers. We love welcoming children into the orchard! Please help them follow the picking guidelines and treat our trees with care.
Apples are a crop that is limited. We try our best to communicate how much longer we have to pick but it’s always a good idea to come early in the season!

U-Pick Pumpkin Patch
Our pumpkin patch opens at the end of September. We grow a wide range of different pumpkin sizes, colors and shapes! Come out and find your perfect one. Our pumpkins are then weighed for you and you pay by the pound.
More Than Just Apple Picking

No trip to Cider Hill is complete without a few of our favorite orchard traditions.
Enjoy fresh apple cider donuts, kettle corn, apple cider slushes, apple crisp and seasonal treats. Browse our orchard store, find the perfect pumpkin when they're in season, and enjoy the peaceful countryside.

Cider Hill is a working apple orchard, and every apple you pick is the result of months of care, patience, and hard work.
Unlike a grocery store, our trees can't simply be restocked. Each apple variety has its own growing season, and once a crop has been harvested, it's gone until the following year.
